Saran Sports was founded on August 19, 1996 by Sanjiv Saran Mehra a former investment banker with Lazard.
Saran was an active sportsman himself during his school and college days but once he started working with Lazard he had to give up his passion for sports due to tight work schedules. Like Saran, several other busy executives too were forced to give up participating in any kind of sporting activity. Saran realized this void and introduced the Saran Corporate Sports Series in 1997.
The primary object was to fulfill the aspirations of corporate executives (amateur players) wanting to play competitive sports on weekends, besides providing a stress free forum for relaxed interaction away from the pressures of workplace.
Since then Saran Sports has expanded rapidly and branched out into various Sports at different levels.
Saran Sports has been promoting the sports culture in Corporate India for the past 15 years when the First Corporate Event (Corporate Cricket 7s) was organised.
Pioneers in corporate sports in India since 1997, we were first to launch corporate sports. Listed in the Limca Book of Records as organizers of India’s biggest corporate sports series.
Over 700 Corporate Teams and nearly 17,000 executives have participated in our multiple corporate sports events since inception.
One of the major areas Saran Sports have been focusing on is Talent Hunts at the grassroots level, which also includes school contact programmes. Based on brand promotions and requirements the school contact programmes vary from programme to programme and are structured according to the requirements of our clients.
We have also been advisors to Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA,) one of the oldest sports associations in the world where over 70,000 students aged between 8-16 years from over 400 schools participate in 19 Sports conducted by the body.
Promoters of the MFL till 2009-10 (Mumbai Football League), one of India’s premier football league with over 300 teams and 6500 players.
